Crypto Rug Pull Checker: How to Check a Token Before You Buy

Check a Token for Rug Pull Risk
Paste a contract address into Rug.Tools and analyze the token before you buy. Free, no signup โ Solana, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base and Monad.

- Copy the token's contract address from the DEX page, explorer or listing โ not from a chat message.
- Paste it into the Rug.Tools search box. The chain is detected from the address format automatically.
- Read the verdict together with its confidence level and how many analysis modules actually returned data.
- Open the liquidity, holder, creator and contract sections rather than stopping at the headline.
- Re-check before you buy again. Permissions and liquidity can change after the first scan.

Run a Rug Pull CheckWhat the rug checker looks at
- Liquidity protection โ pool depth, burn or lock status, unlock date where one exists, and whether the owner is still active.
- Holder distribution โ largest holder, top-10 share, total holders, with burn and locker addresses labelled rather than counted as whales.
- Creator intelligence โ deployer address, wallet age, funding, current balance, transaction count and deployment history.
- Contract signals โ mint and freeze authority, ownership and renouncement, proxy or upgradeable patterns, blacklist and transfer restrictions, buy and sell tax where the chain exposes them.
- Market context โ price, market cap, liquidity, 24h volume, pair age and market-cap-to-liquidity ratio.
- Coordination โ bundled buy detection and clusters of wallets sharing a funding source.
Each module reports its own state. If a source is unavailable on a chain, the report marks it unavailable and the confidence level is calculated only from checks that completed โ missing data is never counted as a negative signal.
How to read the result
The verdict is a weighting, not a prediction
A cautious verdict means the measurable signals lean risky. It is not a claim that the token will rug, and a clean verdict is not a promise that it will not.
Confidence and coverage matter as much as the verdict
Five verified modules is a strong basis. Two is a partial one. Rug.Tools shows coverage explicitly so you can discount a verdict built on thin evidence.
Separate scam risk from trading risk
Thin liquidity, a brand-new pair and high volatility are trading risks โ they can cost you money without any fraud involved. Unlocked LP, live mint authority and concentrated insider supply are structural risks.
Checking by chain
Solana rug pull checker
Paste an SPL mint address. Checks cover mint and freeze authority, LP burn status on the AMM pool, creator balance and history, top-holder concentration and bundled launch wallets.
Browse analyzed Solana tokensEthereum rug pull checker
Paste an ERC-20 contract address. Checks cover source verification, ownership and proxy admin, mint and blacklist functions, buy and sell tax, simulated sell behaviour, LP lock status and holder distribution.
Browse analyzed Ethereum tokensBNB rug pull checker
BEP-20 tokens use the same EVM analysis as Ethereum. Tax-and-blacklist contract templates are more common here, so the tax and transfer-restriction checks carry extra weight.
Browse analyzed BNB Chain tokensBase rug pull checker
Base ERC-20 tokens run through the shared EVM pipeline: metadata, bytecode, proxy and owner detection, deployment and creator wallet history, plus live market and liquidity data.
Browse analyzed Base tokensMonad rug pull checker
Monad analysis is built on direct on-chain reads โ ERC-20 metadata, bytecode, proxy slot, owner, deployment transaction and creator wallet history โ plus market data. Third-party security screening and holder APIs are not yet available on Monad, and the report says so instead of guessing.
Browse analyzed Monad tokensWhat a rug checker cannot do
- It cannot see intent. Every signal describes capability, not what someone will choose to do.
- It cannot see the future. A renounced contract today can still be paired with an insider dump tomorrow.
- It cannot value a project. Risk analysis is not a judgement about whether a token is worth buying.
- It cannot cover what a chain does not expose. Where a source is missing, the honest answer is "unknown".
Frequently asked questions
What is a rug pull checker?โบ
A rug pull checker reads the public on-chain data behind a token โ liquidity ownership, supply distribution, deployer history and contract permissions โ and presents it as risk signals so you can judge a token before buying instead of after.
Which chains can I check?โบ
Rug.Tools analyses Solana, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base and Monad. Paste any token contract address or Solana mint address and the chain is detected automatically.
Is the rug pull checker free?โบ
Yes. Checking a token address on Rug.Tools is free and does not require an account or a wallet connection. You never sign a transaction to run a check.
Can a checker guarantee a token is safe?โบ
No, and you should be sceptical of any tool that claims it can. A checker reports measurable risk signals from data that exists at the moment of the scan. Permissions, liquidity and holder structure can change after you look.
